Live At Santa Monica CD cover

The Kingston Trio

Live At The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium

Recorded live in Santa Monica on April 21, 1961 by the original Kingston Trio lineup of Dave Guard, Nick Reynolds and Bob Shane, this album offers a rare opportunity to hear the group in their final days with Dave Guard. Their manager Frank Werber only had primitive mono recording equipment to capture this concert, but the brilliance of the group clearly shines through. Many of the trio's early favorites were played during this concert, and the group's repertoire changed considerably with John Stewart replacing Dave Guard just a short time afterward. Pat Boone guests on "You're Gonna Miss Me." All tracks were originally produced and engineered by group manager Frank Werber, and remastered/restored from the original master tapes by Ron Furmanek of RichKat Records in July 2007.
